[Disseminated via WeChat] On September 1, 2015, lawyer Ge Yongxi went to Guangzhou No. 1 Detention Center to meet with Tang Jingling, and read the Bible for him. Tang had long wanted a Bible to read, but has been denied by the detention authorities to have one. From last year to this year, books and letters that were mailed or delivered to him have all been withheld or returned. During the time Tang was detained, his mother passed away. The inhumane authorities did not let Tang visit his mother one last time or go to the funeral. Tang Jingling, Yuan Xinting (Yuan Chaoyang) and Wang Qingying have not been let out for fresh air in one year and three months. They have been forced into manual labor, with additional night shifts. They've each been locked into a 20 square-meter room with 20 to 30 other detainees. They have been malnourished for a long time with terrible living conditions. During their detention they have been unable to receive any medical treatment. They’ve endured disguised acts of bullying from their cell mates and disciplinary officers. They have had their hands and legs—and even whole bodies—shackled, suffering inhumane torment. And all this has been instigated by the detention center and by state security authorities. All three have suffered physical and mental torment. Even though in January 2014, the United Nations issued a statement pointing out that the three had been arbitrarily detained and calling for Chinese authorities to release and compensate them, they have remained illegally detained and continued to be tormented, to the point that Wang Qingying has become mentally unstable. We cannot begin to imagine their suffering. Please pay attention to Tang Jingling, Yuan Xinting, and Wang Qingying, and condemn the Guangzhou No. 1 Detention Center, the police, and the black hands behind the scenes!
